Welcome to the Paper Crafts Magazine Card Design Handbook blog hop. I believe you would have learn a lot this week from Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World blogs as they've posted heaps of the design elements and rules on how to create a WOW factor card :) 10 of us were invited to join this blog hop on sharing some of the rules found in this issue. For today post, I will be focusing on the rule of "Asymmetry" by showing good-to-great cards.
GOOD CARD: The first card I attempt using "focal point" to balance well with the birdie and sentiment...
GREAT CARD: The second card I try to stamp the leaves to the right side and the sentiment up and to the middle. By using "asymmetrical balance", it gives a little bit of fun twist as well as the white space added more balancing towards the card. Furthermore, instead of using normal colour card stock I have used cork texture paper to die cut the birdie in order to create some embellishment on it.

You are amazing Angeline and so are your cards. Love the soft colours and that cork bird is fantastic :)
WOW!! Both cards are great!! Love the colors and the cute flowers. The second one is super fabulous. Thanks for the chance to win. Hugs, Joan
Both cards are really beautiful.
That was very revealing! The second card makes the bird more visible and you really focus on the sentiment too.
They look both gorgeous, the second one is a bit more balanced!
you have such an amazing way with CAS. it truly takes my breath away. the cork bird is such a brill touch!
Both of your cards are awesome. Clever design and composition in both.
Love that you showed the two of them next to each other... asymmetrical is not my go to agenda.
I like BOTH cards too! LOVE the little "window" it seems to be, in the first! ( I like it BEST!) lol Is there ANY HOPE for me? :)
Amazing cards!! I love both!!!
WOW! What a lovely card!!! LOVE how you changed up the design to make it better! Just beautiful!

Gorgeous card, love the change in design to balance it all. Thanks for sharing!!
Wow, I love both of the cards, but what a difference, you really notice the bird more in the second one. Thanks for the tip.
Both cards are so beautiful!!! I love the inspiration of today's hop and would love to have this issue.
I love the colors you used and design. I love the off center change! thank you!
Both cards are lovely! The colors are so soft and sweet. I adore the asymmetry of the second. I really need to practice this more as I tens to be very symmetrical and boring in my designs.
I love asymmetrical designs! Beautiful!
I love asymmetry! Your card is gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing!!
Love your asymmetrical card - delightful to the eye!
I like both cards.
Such a great card. I hope you don't mind that I pinned it. I gave you credit for your beautiful work and design. Thank you for showing me how much of a difference "assymmetrical balance" makes.
The second card looks more fresh and modern.
What a gorgeous card. I always tend to want to place my focals in the center. But you really show how gorgeous a card can look by moving things to other areas of your card. Lovely.
I love both these cards!
Beautiful card! I never thought of using cork as an element-I will certainly try that as well as stamping off the page. thank you for sharing this.
Beautiful card! I never thought of using cork as an element but I will definitely try that as well as stamping off the page. thank you for sharing this.
I love BOTH cards!!!!
Seriously, both cards are lovely, but I think the asymmetrical one is more appealing. Love the cork choice for a woodland feel. Thanks for the inspiration!

What a pretty card & love the texture of the cork bird. Thanks for explaining the rules so well.
Both cards are nice. I wouldn't feel badly about sending either one, and I'd certainly love to receive either. However, the second card is my favorite. Having the "lesson" side-by-side in demonstration really helps. Thanks!
i hope i'll be the lucky one! thanks for the chance.
wow...this is so neat! I'm going to have to try doing my cards more like the second one! I love the little birdie! Thanks for the chance to win :)
Both of these cards are so cute! I can't decide which I like better. I never really thought of white space as balancing before but it really does do the trick!
I thought I really loved the circle... really unique! But then the other card blew me away!
definately like the 2nd card best
Wow, Angeline, the difference is amazing! Thanks for the visual!
You make an excellent point that the card is more interesting by having it only on one side and going off the egde of the page.
By placing the elements in assymmetrically, the card looks more elegant. Love this idea!
I think that both cards are lovely. I guess I see that the 2nd card is better... all I really see is that beautiful cork bird!
Really beautiful card . Couldn't see the first example.
Great cards, and such an improvement on the second card =) TFS!
Great example. Thanks.
Both cards are very cool!! I love the second one just because it is so different!!

Wow -- what a super illustration of assymetry. Both are great cards, but I much prefer the second card. Love that cork bird!
I love your second card and the asymmetrical balance (and the cute little cork bird!!)
Love the "cork" bird! I actually like the circle of the first card, but it's amazing how you can take the same elements and make totally different effects! Thanks for sharing with us!
I actually like both cards very much. The simplicity and the colors are fabulous! I think the second may be a wee bit more pleasing to the eye with the off center setting. Loved the cork bird!
Great blog hop...I'm learning a lot! Love your cards.
I sure have a lot to learn it isn't just plopping an image in the middle of the page. Thanks for the inspiration.
I am fascinated by that first version.
Love both of these cards! I do adore the second, moving the flowers to the side made a HUGE difference! Thanks for the great tip!
Wow, what a difference a little "Asymmetry" makes, the second card really is eye catching.
Changing the placement of the design really makes a difference. It is much more striking in the second card.
Thanks for sharing the lesson of asymmetrical balance. love the second card. the soft colored silhouette stamping is also my favorite of yours.
Very pretty card!
It's amazing what a huge difference it makes to move the design from the center to an off center corner!

I do like both cards (especially how you stamped the first one with a circle mask) but the second one does have that extra WOW factor. Beautiful colours and perfect cork bird, too.

Stunning cards, Angeline! Both are gorgeous, and I love how they show two principles. The asymmetry is such a fabulous example...it's one I really struggle with but your card is perfect!
Love love love the second version!!!
I have to say I like both of these cards although on the first one, it may have been cute to curve the sentiment around the circle... thanks for sharing!!
I hate symmetrical layouts. They never look quite right to me so your second card seems much better. Very pretty.
Both cards are lovely. The second card gives a different feel with the asymmetry. Beautiful example!

Such AMAZING and FUN cards!! LOVE the tips and tricks!! THANKS for sharing and for the chance to win!! Have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
I have a thing about birds! I love them, the real ones outside, and my paper ones (or your cork) inside. I love the design of stamping off the edge and asymetrical design. i love the color combo too. Love your card.
I love both cards! Each has its unique difference :)
The colors, the texture from the cork, and the white space make bot of these exceptional.Everything I do is asymmetrical-your demonstrated perfectly.
Oh yeah, I really see the difference though the first isn't that bad at all.
Beautiful card! I love asymmetry.
