Jay Gee's Nook DT/ The Focal Point Challenge

For the Card Design Handbook Blog Hop, please click here.

Hello,

I would like to share with you this card I've made for Jay Gee's Nook DT. It is a "focal point" balance card and thought of entering this card to Moxie Fab World: The Focal Point Challenge. This is my 2nd attempt of the card as for the first one I die cut the round shape but it seems not right, so I changed it by mask and stamp the wooden texture from Skipping Stones and it felt much more better. To finished off, I added some die cut chloe stem from Memory Box and Folk Art Florals die from Wplus9.
Have a blessed week ahead :) and thanks for stopping by!

Card Design Handbook Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Paper Crafts Magazine Card Design Handbook blog hop. I believe you would have learn a lot this week from Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World blogs as they've posted heaps of the design elements and rules on how to create a WOW factor card :) 10 of us were invited to join this blog hop on sharing some of the rules found in this issue. For today post, I will be focusing on the rule of "Asymmetry" by showing good-to-great cards.
GOOD CARD: The first card I attempt using "focal point" to balance well with the birdie and sentiment...
GREAT CARD: The second card I try to stamp the leaves to the right side and the sentiment up and to the middle. By using "asymmetrical balance", it gives a little bit of fun twist as well as the white space added more balancing towards the card. Furthermore, instead of using normal colour card stock I have used cork texture paper to die cut the birdie in order to create some embellishment on it.
I hope you enjoy today post and hopefully get some inspiration out of it. Before you leave, please continue visit the following designers to get more inspire as well as increasing your chances in winning a copy of the Card Design Handbook.
Of course, by leaving a comment on this post, you will get a chance to win a copy of the magazine. Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge: Design Sketches

Welcome to Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge on Design Sketches. Today's sketch was one of my favourites ever from Kim :)
I love this sketch a lot because of the dynamic of the lines, which you can interpret it in many different ways. This is what I did on the sketch, if you notice I have stamp the penguins in 3 different blind spots which also clearly shown in the sketch above.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy today post :) More details of the challenge can be found at Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge's blog.

Jay Gee's Nook DT: Thanks

Hello
Welcome to Jay Gee's Nook DT post :) I am using one of my favourites die cut "Chloe Stem" from Memory Box. To create this card, I first die the card without remove any left over parts from the die. Then, added some form tapes to add more dimension into it.
You can see it closely...
Have a Blessed weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Published Faith Tag: Paper Crafts Card Design Handbook

Just thought of sharing one of the tag which recently published at "Paper Crafts Card Design Handbook". I am honoured to be part of this issue as it has been benefits me to continue create more project base on some principle design.
This Faith tag was created base on Classy & Elegant category and the definition are "The classy & elegant style is polished. A shiny finish, sparkling embellishments, a rich colour scheme, and sophisticated sentiment treatments are all part of the classy & elegant pedigree. Its look is regal, stunning, and dashing. And while its line are clean, sweeping, and dramatic, it can also incorporate monochromatic colour schemes with impressive layered textures". -exact from Card Design Handbook (p. 137)

Thanks for stopping by and have a Blessed weekend!

Jay Gee's Nook Challenge #22

Hello,

Welcome to Jay Gee's Nook brand new challenge. For this inspiration bard, I was actually inspired by Paper Crafts Magazine Creative Editor Susan R. Opel's Pinterest. Her well known orange colour favourites always inspired me. Hence, I decided to create a inspiration board with some inspiration from her :)
Here is my take on the challenge photo :) I was particular inspired by the flower motive chair above and using this stamp "Born An Original" from Unity Stamp to create it. The sentiment stamps are from Verve Stamps this set.
I hope you take some time to join the challenge. More details of the challenge can be found here. Thanks for stopping by!
